Today Argentus is working with a brand new client in the Industrial Manufacturing sector. This company is a renowned player in their manufacturing vertical, with strong expertise and a track record of leadership and high performance in continuous improvement. As part of their ongoing efforts to upskill their supply chain talent base, they’ve tapped Argentus to source a Supply Chain Manager!
The Opportunity:
This candidate will work out of the organization’s facility in the North GTA, ON (exact location confidential now), with a mandate to lead the end-to-end supply chain operation. This role will report into the Managing Director and lead strategy and execution for key supply chain accountabilities including Sourcing, Vendor qualification, Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Inventory Management and Logistics. On the sourcing side, this individual will develop a supplier strategy for key commodities and raw materials, using strong negotiations and supplier management skills to build high-impact relationships with key suppliers, with the goal of ensuring continuity of production and finding opportunities for innovation. You will manage the end-to-end S&OP process including supply planning, demand planning, and inventory planning. You will develop forecasts and implement those forecasts within the MRP process, developing a production plan to balance supply with demand and maximize efficiency, agility and resilience in the supply chain. You will work with key partnerships with Logistics providers, including warehousing and transportation, improving customer service levels while smoothly managing inventory. In addition, you will work within the company’s ERP system (Syspro) to ensure consistent and reliable master data, while deploying performance metrics to track operational efficiency.
The Ideal Candidate:
In short, this is a classic holistic supply chain management role, suitable for a high-performing supply chain professional with some solid leadership experience under their belt. The successful candidate needs to have considerable experience in end-to-end supply chain management within an industrial manufacturing organization (e.g. automotive, electrical manufacturing, building materials, aerospace, etc.), including expertise with Sourcing, Negotiations and Supplier Management, S&OP, MRP systems, ERP, Inventory Management, and Logistics. Experience leading teams is a must, and experience with Syspro ERP is a significant asset.
