Argentus is working with one of our longstanding clients in the Food & Beverage Industry on a Transportation leadership role. This client is a major provider in Canada, on the forefront of Food & Beverage distribution, with a plan to grow their organizational and technological capability. This individual will work out of the company’s office in Toronto, Ontario, and report to the Senior Director of Transportation, with a mandate to manage and improve the company’s transportation network within Ontario. This will involve leading a small team to manage inbound transportation, including ocean shipments, as well as domestic road and rail, as well as distribution to the company’s large network of warehouses and retailers. The successful candidate will lead a small team to design and optimize the transportation network, with the goal of improving efficiency and service to the company’s customers. In addition, you will lead the procurement process for the company’s transportation & logistics, managing the RFP process from end-to-end, including drafting RFP documents, managing supplier submissions, conducting negotiations and contract development, with the goal of delivering strategic value from the company’s carrier relationships. In addition, you will oversee the company’s existing transportation contracts, identifying risks, and ensuring that carrier partners uphold their negotiated obligations under the contracts.
This role is a great fit for an emerging transportation leader with experience designing and optimizing large transportation networks within the Retail, Food & Beverage, CPG or industry. Experience with leading logistics & transportation procurement is a requirement, including managing the end-to-end RFP process including negotiations and contract development with a variety of transportation carriers and providers. The successful candidate needs to be highly technical, with strong experience in transportation management systems (TMS) as well as PowerBI.
