Senior Operations Manager – Protein Food

Argentus is excited to be partnering with a growing organization in the food manufacturing and supply chain space on a search for a Senior Operations Manager – Protein Food. This organization is recognized for its strong operational foundation, collaborative culture, and ability to deliver high-quality products across complex supply chain networks. They’ve partnered with Argentus to support a key leadership hire within their logistics operations team.

Supporting the company’s Protein Food Division, this role will oversee end-to-end temperature-controlled logistics operations across inbound imports, transportation, warehousing, inventory, and distribution activities. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing logistics function responsible for maintaining service excellence, operational efficiency, and cold chain integrity across a fast-paced distribution network.

This role offers extensive cross-functional exposure, requiring close collaboration with internal stakeholders, transportation providers, warehouse partners, and external vendors across Canada and the United States. You’ll be responsible for overseeing inbound ocean freight activity, managing 3PL cold storage operations, optimizing transportation solutions, and driving operational improvements across the supply chain.

In addition, the role will focus heavily on vendor performance, logistics cost management, inventory accuracy, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll play a key role in developing scalable transportation and warehousing solutions, strengthening operational processes, and ensuring compliance with all applicable standards related to temperature-controlled transportation and inventory management.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring someone who can balance operational execution with strategic thinking, while leading teams in a fast-paced and high-complexity environment. The successful candidate will also manage KPIs, lead sourcing and negotiation activities, and partner closely with internal teams to support business priorities and future growth.

This opportunity is best suited for candidates with 10+ years of progressive logistics and supply chain experience, including strong exposure to cold chain transportation, warehousing, ocean freight, inventory management, and intermodal operations. Experience leading teams within fast-paced operational environments is essential, along with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Salary Target: Up to $140,000
