Today, they have tapped Argentus on a search for a Procurement Manager – Construction & Facilities!
The Opportunity:
Working out of the company’s office in Edmonton, AB, this Procurement Manager will lead a team in strategic development and execution of a number of procurement projects within a variety of Construction, Facilities and Maintenance Categories. In this role, the successful candidate will lead and mentor a team in the end-to-end delivery of procurement projects, including working closely with stakeholders to identify their needs, developing RFx documentation and packages, going to market and managing supplier responses, supplier negotiations, onboarding, and contracting as well as vendor management. Working within the organization’s Public Sector mandate, you will ensure an open and competitive procurement process, and develop procurement metrics and reporting to meet regulatory requirements. In addition, you will work to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements throughout the procurement process, while safeguarding quality and delivery. You will manage the procurement department’s budget and provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to the team, fostering a positive culture of excellent stakeholder management and process improvement.
The Ideal Candidate:
This role is a great fit for a candidate with considerable end-to-end procurement experience within medium-to-large scale construction projects, as well as facilities and maintenance procurement, within the public sector. Additionally, our client is looking for candidates who have successfully managed teams, and have strong skills with procurement analytics and reporting. The successful candidate may come from a municipality, school board, provincial government organization, or other public sector organization, and may come from elsewhere in Canada.
