Argentus is working with a brand new client on an impactful Logistics search! This company boasts a proud history in the Home Goods Manufacturing industry, with an iterative design process and a strong workplace culture. We are pleased to announce that they have tapped Argentus for a search for a Logistics Manager for their Etobicoke, ON facility!
This individual will provide strategic leadership for the logistics department, managing a team of logistics coordinators and material handlers to drive efficiency in outbound shipments and customer service. In this role, the successful candidate will design logistics and materials handling procedures that will increase productivity and quality, and minimize production and shipping issues as part of the logistics fulfilment process. You will work to negotiate with carriers and freight providers to minimize shipping costs and maximize fulfilment customer service, and manage customs for cross-border shipments . You will work to establish daily schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet targets with the company’s customers, leading and coaching the team to success and fostering a culture of safety and effectiveness in the logistics operation. You will manage an efficient utilization of the company’s storage space, and meet and exceed targets for inventory accuracy. In addition, you will identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement within the logistics function, applying Lean principles as well as ISO 9001:2015 quality management principles to ensure a high degree of efficiency and effectiveness.
In short, our client is looking for a strong Logistics Manager with at least 5 years of experience in a logistics supervisory role in a manufacturing environment, ideally Home Goods Manufacturing. The successful candidate needs to have experience negotiating with carriers and freight providers and managing cross-border customs. In addition, the candidate needs to have very strong leadership skills, and the ability to develop a strong working culture as you coach and mentor teams. A strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, as well as ERP systems is a must for this role, as is a proven track record of implementing continuous improvement programs in a logistics environment.
