Today Argentus is working with another fantastic client on a great management-level Logistics role. This company is a leading distributor in their industry, with strong growth and a global scope. Today, they’re looking for a Logistics Manager to help lead their logistics and transportation function!
This Logistics Manager will work out of the company’s office in Brampton, ON with a mandate to manage and improve the company’s logistics and transportation of goods to its customers, on both a tactical and operational level. This individual will lead a Logistics team to plan, coordinate, and manage logistics activities to minimize lead times and cost, while optimizing the transportation network using a variety of external partners. This will involve managing relationships with 3PL, 4PL, carrier and customs partners, developing a strong understanding of processes to assess and improve logistics providers’ performance. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the transportation department, coordinating with customers, warehouses and suppliers to ensure a smooth flow of products and provide solutions to transportation problems as they arise. You will identify opportunities for improvement in the service and capacity of carrier relationships, ensure accurate freight agreements are in place, and develop strong documentation around all logistics and transportation processes. In addition, you will coach and mentor the Logistics team to success, and liaise with customer service, supply chain, sales, and operations with the goal of improving on-time delivery and overall customer service.
In short, our client is looking for a strong Logistics Manager with a great understanding of the logistics and carrier space, including experience managing relationships with 3PL and 4PLs and freight providers. The successful candidate needs to have very strong analytical skills, and a strong capacity for continuous improvement. In addition, as this is a people management role, the successful candidate needs to have managed a logistics and transportation team.
