This company has a proud history in their industry, with a reputation for sustainability and development of industry-leading highly-engineered technologies for a suite of global customers. Today, they’re looking for a Commodity Manager for their critical electrical components categories!
This individual will join our client’s sourcing team, working out of the company’s office in Toronto, ON with a mandate to develop and implement the overall category strategy for critical electrical components, including PCBs, PCB assembly, electrical controls and control panels. In this role, the successful candidate will interface with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders in manufacturing, R&D, engineering, quality control and others, working to deliver exceptional procurement outcomes for the category that maximize quality and innovation while minimizing cost and supply chain disruption. You will implement your category strategy, manage supplier performance, supplier relationships and supplier consolidation, and lead best practices in terms of sourcing, supplier selection, cost evaluation, negotiations and onboarding. In addition, you will act as a subject matter expert for these mission-critical commodities in the organization, providing insights about the global supplier marketplace and risks for these components. In short, it’s a holistic procurement role with real business impact.
For this role, our client is looking for individuals with at least 5+ years of strategic sourcing experience for electrical components within a multi-site manufacturing organization. Experience in procurement for PCB and PCB assembly is a must, as is a strong track record of strategic cost savings and procurement process improvements.
