Argentus is working with a brand new client in the Construction industry on an impactful end-to-end procurement role! This company has a proud history in their industry, and an excellent centre-led procurement model. Today, they have tapped Argentus to assist them with a search for a Category Manager for their critical Construction Professional Services category!
This contract role will be a 6 month term to start, with possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role, supporting our client’s operations in Vancouver, BC or Edmonton, AB on a Hybrid basis. In this role, the successful candidate will define and implement sourcing strategies for construction professional services, as well as CapEx, equipment, and other related categories. Our client is looking for a subject matter expert in procurement processes for these categories, who will act as an internal SME to a variety of stakeholders from the perspective of sourcing strategy. You will use your understanding of the supplier marketplace for these categories to define strategy, and manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier evaluation, selection, negotiation, contracting and onboarding. In this process, you will ensure that procurement activities deliver value from the perspective of cost, risk, and contract compliance, as well as alignment with broader business goals.
In short, this is an excellent senior sole contributor contract role for a candidate with 7-8 years of end-to-end procurement experience under their belt—including experience managing end-to-end procurement projects of considerable value and strategic complexity. Experience with EPC construction, professional services, CapEx and/or heavy equipment is a must for this role, as is experience working within a centralized procurement/category management model.
