Director of Procurement – Indirect Categories – Toronto

June 30, 2020

An impactful greenfield opportunity for a Strategic Procurement leader.

Argentus is thrilled to be working again with one of our top clients in the Services space on a greenfield opportunity. This company has a strong Canadian footprint with a commitment to collaboration, innovation and integrity within their shared service model. Today, they’re looking for a Director of Procurement to help manage a consolidation of spend under a strategic sourcing / shared services model!

Located in Toronto and reporting to the Vice President of Procurement, this Director of Procurement will take on overall responsibility for implementation of a best in class strategic sourcing and category/contract management program. You will enact this new strategic program across the company’s shared services model, working to optimize Procurement from the perspective of people, processes and technology. In implementing the program, you will also interact with numerous stakeholders to get buy-in for the program, and empower them to use this new Procurement model to find cost savings and innovation along the Supply Chain. Note: this role is primarily focused on Indirect Procurement, with a high spend volume. In addition, you will manage a small, highly strategic Procurement team to implement the new model and drive success, while also rolling up your sleeves to take part in the nuts-and-bolts sourcing as needed. In short, this is a dream leadership role for a strategic Procurement professional at the Senior Manager level, looking to take the next step in their career with a greenfield implementation opportunity.

The successful candidate for this role needs to have proven Strategic Sourcing acumen across a large volume of indirect spend, as well as a strong track record with implementing new company-wide Procurement initiatives, and achieving considerable buy-in from a wide variety of stakeholders. At least 8-10+ years of strategic Procurement experience is a must for this role, as is leadership experience. If this sounds like you or someone in your network, reach out to Argentus today!
