This universally-recognizable organization boasts a strong, centre-led strategic sourcing function, as well as an excellent working culture. Today, they’re looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager for their Equipment category!
This individual will work remotely (from within Canada) on a one-year contract, with the possibility for extension, to support the organization’s office in Ottawa, ON. In this role, you will act as a key procurement contributor for the organization’s equipment spend. This includes material handling equipment, as well as mechanized equipment and commercial vehicles. You will use your strategic sourcing skills to manage the end-to-end procurement and RFP process for a variety of strategic procurement bids within the category. This involves developing relationships with stakeholders in various business lines to gather a detailed understanding of their needs, researching the supplier marketplace, then preparing RFP documentation, going to market to manage supplier solicitations and questions, evaluating incoming suppliers, and participating in the vendor selection, negotiation, award and contracting steps of the process, as well as the ongoing supplier relationship management once suppliers have been onboarded. Working within established public sector guidelines for fair, competitive, and transparent procurement, you will work to identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation, and added value through the strategic sourcing process, and act as a subject matter expert for procurement best practices within the organization.
This role is an excellent fit for a seasoned procurement professional, with considerable experience managing the full life-cycle for complex, strategic, and competitive procurement bids. A track record of delivering excellent procurement services in the equipment category, including materials handling equipment and/or commercial vehicles, is a must for this role, as is experience working within the Public Sector, including public sector procurement guidelines.
