Argentus is working with a brand new client on a number of short-term contract roles! This client is a fast-growing public sector organization, with a strong mandate and a strong procurement group. Today, they’re hiring for a sole contributor procurement role on a short-term contract—a Senior Purchasing and Risk Management Specialist.
Working on a contract term out of the organization’s office in Oakville, ON, this individual will take on strategic procurement for a variety of commodities and services categories. Working within the organization’s established public sector procurement methodology, you will develop and execute complex procurement projects, from stakeholder needs analysis to bid document preparation, to supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contracting. This role has a supplier relationship management component as well, as you’ll be working to maintain and develop the organization’s supplier performance program. You will oversee the company’s Purchasing Card program, including maintenance of the system and high-level troubleshooting. In addition, you will provide assistance and advice to senior leaders and other stakeholders on purchasing issues as they arise—including negotiating contract terms and conditions, trade agreements, and dispute resolution. In consultation with stakeholders in various departments, you will work to eliminate risk and provide cost savings, while also identifying and implementing improvements to the organization’s purchasing process.
This is a great role for a well-established sole contributor in procurement, someone with at least 6 years of purchasing experience encompassing large-scale, complex projects from end-to-end. Our client is looking for individuals who are skilled with building stakeholder relationships, managing supplier performance, and working within procurement systems to generate cost savings and mitigate risk. If this sounds like you, and you’re looking to move into a new role, reach out to Argentus today!
