This is a Public Sector organization that commands a ton of respect for its excellence in Supply Chain, Logistics management, and today they’ve come to Argentus to tap our network for a Procurement Officer!
The Opportunity:
Working remotely to support the organization’s Ottawa, Ontario office, this Procurement Officer will handle Procurement planning and sourcing for a diverse set of indirect categories. This means leading teams cross-functionally in the RF(x) process, working across the sourcing lifecycle from needs analysis to request initiation, bid evaluation, supplier negotiation and onboarding – with the ultimate goal of developing a smooth and effective Procurement process that adds significant value to the company. You will work closely with individual stakeholders for various categories, and communicate regularly with suppliers to provide clarification and direction on the organization’s Procurement activities. You will also ensure that goods and services procured are delivered up to the standard of agreed upon scope of work with suppliers. You will also work to recommend and implement changes and process improvements to the Procurement function, and be a general subject matter expert for Procurement in the organization.
The Ideal Candidate:
Our client is seeking individuals with at least 5 years of experience in end-to-end Procurement. The right candidate will have a significant track record of preparing and evaluating RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and other sourcing events, with a demonstrated record of adding value to their organizations through Procurement. Preference will be given to applicants who have Procurement experience at organizations with a significant footprint – but no particular category of Procurement experience (e.g. IT, Facilities, Marketing) is required. A University degree is a must, and Public Sector industry experience is a significant asset. Our client is willing to offer relocation to Ottawa for the right candidate, as this is a perm role with quite a bit of potential for growth!
