Today, they’ve reached out to Argentus for assistance in hiring a Procurement Manager!
Working on a Hybrid basis to support the company’s Etobicoke, ON facility, this Procurement Manager will take charge of sourcing and vendor management for the company’s transportation and contingent labour categories. Reporting to the Senior Director of Procurement, this individual will work to consistently improve and gain value from the company’s relationships with a variety of transportation providers, as well as from suppliers of contingent staff. In this role, you will use excellent stakeholder relationship skills to build relationships across the organization and build a team understanding of stakeholders’ needs, and then use strategic sourcing methodologies to take those needs to the market and secure excellent suppliers, providing cost savings, quality, and continuous improvement for a large volume of spend. You will manage procurement projects from end-to-end, coordinating all stakeholders in the process and acting as a procurement subject matter expert. Key project phases include bid document preparation, managing supplier submissions, supplier selection and negotiations, contract writing, and ongoing supplier management. Vendor management skills are a must, as you’ll be working to manage ongoing relationships and ensure that performance targets and contractual obligations are met, finding opportunities for innovation, while also working closely with stakeholders to make sure that supplier offerings are well integrated with the business’s operations.
This is an excellent sole contributor role for an accomplished professional who’s well-acquainted with the marketplace for various transportation providers, as well as contingent labour. The successful candidate will EITHER have a significant track record of procurement success in the transportation category (including contract writing and excellent stakeholder engagement skills), OR will be someone from the logistics industry with a deep background in negotiating and developing contracts with transportation providers. Experience with large spend volumes is a must, and experience with SAP is a significant asset.
