Within the consumer goods distribution/retail industry, they are one of the most renowned organizations in the game and over numerous decades, they have built a name for themselves across Canada. With a reputation for providing high quality products, they are looking to expand their Supply Chain team with a Strategic Sourcing Specialist.
Working out of the corporate office in Oakville and reporting to the President of the organization, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be primarily responsible for sourcing the consumer goods that they stock and ultimately distribute. Our client is trying to become more strategic in their sourcing practices and the individual will be required to identify suppliers, recommend sourcing strategies, and manage vendors. They will need to work with the bottom line in mind, while not lapsing on quality of sourced products. They will negotiate with suppliers to ensure relationships are maximally beneficial and will manage them to ensure they are honoring agreements. Another exciting aspect of this role is collaboration with the marketing team on new product development as well as forecasting, costing, and pricing that goes along with it.
Our client has specified they are looking for candidates with 5 or more years of experience in strategic sourcing from any industry. They will need to show proficiency within sourcing practices, including vendor management, negotiation, and general knowledge of Supply Chain best practices. Excel skills will be essential for this role as well as mathematical skills in order to build budgets, forecasts, and pricing strategies.
