This is a leading retailer with a strong national footprint, as well as a well-developed Strategic Sourcing function and a strong corporate culture based on shared purpose. Today, this client is looking to bring on a Strategic Sourcing Manager for their Transportation Category on a Contract role!
Based in Mississauga, this individual will manage overall strategic sourcing, contracting, supplier negotiation, and end-to-end supplier management for a portfolio of Transportation / Logistics services. This Procurement category includes services such as truck transportation, ocean and rail, 3rd party logistics, and 3rd party warehousing. You will work within the company’s Supply Chain department to reduce total cost of ownership and risk, using world-class sourcing and negotiation tools and processes. You will develop an annual strategic plan for the Transportation / Logistics category, and work to get buy-in from various stakeholders to enact the plan, executing an excellent standard of strategic Procurement. By developing relationships with stakeholders, you will work to become a trusted advisor who can deliver strong front-line end-to-end sourcing based on the strategic plan.
In short, this is an impactful contract role for a seasoned strategic Procurement professional. The successful candidate needs to have at least 8+ years of relevant Procurement experience, with particular emphasis on the Transportation / Logistics category (including a combination of truck, ocean and rail, 3PL and 3rd party warehousing services).
