This company has an international footprint, with a number of thriving brands and a strong, integrated Supply Chain. They’ve tapped our expertise in the Procurement sector to fill out their Strategic Sourcing leadership bench. Today, they’re hiring a Strategic Sourcing Manager for their Raw Materials category!
This is an impactful Manager-level role, guiding overall strategy and execution for the company’s direct purchasing requirements. This means building an in-depth knowledge of the raw materials supplier picture, developing an overall strategy, and going to market with strategic Procurements to minimize cost and risk, while building relationships with suppliers to find new opportunities for innovation. You will work closely with stakeholders in various business units who intersect with raw materials to deeply understand their needs, and build engagement with them at every step of the Procurement process to deliver on their objective. In addition, this is a people management role: you will take on leadership of a team of front-line Procurement professionals for the category, providing coaching, oversight and development to raise the bar for Raw Materials Procurement excellence within the organization.
The successful candidate for this role needs to have 7+ years of Procurement experience in Raw Materials (CPG, Pharmaceutical, Food, etc.), as well as a strong understanding of the Consumer Goods industry in Canada, and a proven track record of managing Procurement professionals to a high level of success. It’s a highly entrepreneurial working culture, with lots of opportunity to develop people, process and technology as they continue to build out their Procurement function.
