Today, we are excited to present a new opportunity with one of our clients – they are looking for a Senior Manager of IT Procurement to work on contract. Our client is a well-known multinational organization with revenues in the billions every year. They are considered to be the world class and the industry standard in consulting services. With large operations in Toronto, they are looking to expand their Supply Chain team by bringing on a contract procurement expert!
Our client is looking for a high energy, expert in their field to join their team as a Senior Manager of IT Procurement. This position will report directly to the Head of Category Management Sourcing and will be responsible for taking ownership of categories in the broader IT mandate (software, hardware, Telecommunications, etc.). This will involve identifying and understanding demand and supply of the category, assessing and engaging suppliers, and ensuring the strategies are in line with corporate procurement and sourcing initiatives. Upon determination of sourcing initiatives within the assigned categories, the Senior Manager will be responsible for implementation and monitoring of the processes. This role will manage 2-4 buyers within the category and will be work within the global procurement team. The contract will last 6 months and there is potential for translation into a permanent position depending on success within the role.
Successful candidates will require 8-10 years of experience working in procurement in ideally large corporations. They will need to be an IT subject matter expert as they will be the go to person in the category. They will also need to be adept in negotiation, vendor management, and proper procurement processes.
