Argentus is working with one of our Public Sector clients in Ottawa on a new contract Procurement search! This organization is a major Public Sector arm, with a strong Procurement department and a working culture prizing collaboration and accountability. Today, they’re looking for a Senior Procurement Resource for their Construction Category on a 6 month contract to start!
This contract will be based remotely due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, so candidates from across Ontario are eligible for this role – however the successful candidate needs to be able to go to Ottawa periodically to access resources and systems. This individual will take on front line Strategic Procurement duties for the organization’s Construction category – including category strategy development, sourcing execution, supplier negotiation and onboarding. You will work with a variety of internal stakeholders to identify needs, then plan the Procurement strategy for Construction and Development based on an understanding of the Supplier Marketplace. Following this big-picture strategy, you will go to market with RF(x) events to identify competitive suppliers for relevant projects and, following contract award, you will work to negotiate with suppliers and develop contracts. This role also has a contract management piece as you’ll work with suppliers to improve relationships and ensure that the organization gets the most value from their Procurement activities.
As mentioned, this is a contract role, 6 months to start, with possibility for extension. Our client is looking for a Senior Sole Contributor in Procurement with at least 7+ years of experience, including a strategic Procurement background in the Construction category. Public sector experience, as well as French, is an asset for this role, but our client is willing to look at an individual from the private sector.
