Industry: Public Sector
Argentus is working with one of our most high-profile public sector clients on a new Procurement systems role. This organization, located in Ottawa, has a sophisticated Procurement and Logistics operation and a great working culture – an ideal fit for someone wanting to move into a managerial role.
Today this client is hiring a Manager of Procure to Pay. In this role, where you will take on oversight of the company’s Procure to Pay ERP system (SAP) within the larger sourcing group. You will lead a small team to ensure that the system meets the company’s organizational requirements – from the perspective of data and usability. You will undertake initiatives to improve the system that the organization uses for $3BN of vendor payments every year – a high impact position, needless to say. You will make assessments of the systems and use project management skills to develop, design, implement, and integrate system changes and improvements. You will identify opportunities for process improvements in eProcurement, and lead a team that includes a vendor master, troubleshooter, material manager, user trainer, and others – providing coaching and guidance along the way.
This is a solid leadership opportunity for someone with excellent ERP skills (SAP an asset but any ERP is a good fit), as well as an understanding of eProcurement – at least 5-7 years of experience, including at least 1 year of experience in a Procurement environment. People management skills are a must for this role. Our client is also willing to offer relocation to Ottawa for the right candidate.
