Today, they’re looking to augment their team with a Distribution Centre Manager for their East GTA facility!
This Distribution Centre Manager will take on leadership of the company’s distribution / warehousing team, adopting a continuous improvement framework to deliver efficient and sustainable warehouse operations. This means working within the company’s overall Supply Chain strategy to manage and improve processes to fulfil orders across the company’s channels, including retail, wholesale, eCommerce and 3PL. You will cultivate strong control over inventory levels to meet demand, proactively identifying any inventory discrepancies. In addition, you will work with global 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) partners to hold them accountable, and drive continuous improvement methodology to innovate and streamline all aspects of the distribution function, in terms of people, process and technology. This is a roll-up-the-sleeves role, with significant team leadership responsibilities over a distribution team of approx. 25 individuals. You will work to coach and mentor the team as they grow their careers, planning labour needs based on forecasts and other data, and drive transparent and accountable relationships with other key Supply Chain functions. This role also demands a strong understanding and adherence to Health and Safety guidelines, and a proactive attitude to addressing any failure to adhere to those guidelines.
This is a senior role – an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Distribution Manager to make their mark at an exceptional company. The successful candidate needs to have at least 5+ years of distribution centre experience, with at least 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role. You need to be very well-versed in Health & Safety, with a proven track record of people management and coaching a team. You also need to be able to work hands-on, as well as a strong advocate for social movements and equality in the workplace.
