This company has a number of high-profile brands, and a reputation for Procurement and Supply Chain excellence. Today, they’re hiring a Procurement leader to bolster their purchasing within their crucial Commodities category.
As a Food Service leader, this company’s brands depend on excellent food commodities Procurement to keep up their track record of success. So this role has the dual function of being a crucial front-line contributor, as well as a leader within the company’s Procurement group. Working out of the company’s office in Vaughan, ON, this Category Manager will develop a category plan for key commodities (oil, pulp, flour, paper, etc.). As the Category Manager for these crucial commodities, you will be a key facet of the brand team, working in close collaboration with other members (as well as one direct report) to provide value from a Procurement perspective. You will develop a deep understanding of the relevant commodities’ trends, marketplaces, global supply and demand, and stock-to-use ratios, and then develop the Procurement strategy and execute. Lower cost, mitigate risk, develop the company’s knowledge base for the assigned commodities, and communicate and present about commodity Procurement issues, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership within the business.
The successful candidate needs significant Food Commodities purchasing experience, as well as an excellent understanding of Procurement strategy, and exceptional communications skills.
