Industry: Public Sector
We have a new and exciting opportunity to present to our network. Our client is a public sector powerhouse located in Toronto and they are a household name and considered to be an excellent employer! Within the last few years, they have made a major push to improve their Supply Chain team to really turn themselves into a world class organization. They are currently looking to hire several Buyers to work on Contract.
Working out of the organization’s Toronto, ON office, these Buyers will review Procurement requirements, refine those requirements, compile and issue an RF(x), and then evaluate the bids and choose award contracts to the right suppliers. You will use an understanding of sound public sector Procurement practices to award contracts to suppliers, constantly working to increase competition by finding alternate sources of supply. You will also negotiate with vendors to secure better prices, monitor vendor performance on an ongoing basis, meet with vendors to discuss service levels, and process all required documentation for the above tasks with a high degree of attention to detail. In short, it’s a bread and butter Procurement role at the analyst level, a great opportunity to get your feet wet in a great Public Sector organization.
Our client is looking for candidates with 2-3 years of experience working within Procurement, particularly within IT Procurement (computer hardware/software), or facilities. Public Sector experience is also a major asset for this role, and strong mathematical, MS excel, and organizational skills are paramount. Our client is looking for individuals who are able to communicate effectively, work efficiently in teams, and be results and goal oriented to work to get the job done! Interested?
