On the Argentus blog, we aim to provide useful talent-related info for everyone across the supply chain world: candidates looking for jobs, companies looking to get more strategic about their hiring, or any supply chain professional who wants to see the state of play in the hiring marketplace. As a recruitment firm specialized exclusively in supply chain management, we work every day with top companies across Canada and the U.S. to connect them with great candidates.
We’ve been doing it for 20 years. It’s taught us quite a few things, and over the past several years, we’ve used the Argentus blog to share what we’ve learned with candidates in our network — and to connect with new ones. We’ve written about the skills companies are looking for when hiring in supply chain, what constitutes a great supply chain resume, salary profiles, how to negotiate a salary, and many other topics. Recently, we’ve been focusing on the immense demand for supply chain professionals, and how companies’ skills needs have changed.
Through all of this, our content has been text-only. Until now.
We just hosted our first ever webinar, Building a Supply Chain Career. We wanted to take our content live, and offer a more interactive format for our network. It was a chance for candidates to engage with Argentus’ recruiters, and learn our advice for how to secure your next great supply chain opportunity directly from the source. Robert Thomson, our Western Regional Manager, provided the presentation. He’s on the front lines of supply chain hiring every day, so he’s an excellent person to hear from, whether you’re looking to get into the field, or are well-seasoned and looking to make your next career move.
The webinar covered topics including:
- What companies are looking for when hiring in supply chain today
- How to build your personal brand for a supply chain career
- Supply chain job search strategies
and more. It was followed by a Q&A session with our Head of Content, Sam White, where we covered topics such as:
- How to secure your first supply chain opportunity in Canada as a newcomer
- How to highlight soft skills on a resume rather than waiting for a job interview
- How to use contract (short-term) opportunities to build your resume
- How to build a LinkedIn profile that’s broad enough to attract a variety of opportunities, while still being specific enough to showcase your functional expertise.
We couldn’t be more thrilled at the turnout – with more than 300 signups from across the supply chain discipline. There were great questions and great feedback galore, and we had the chance to connect with some top-flight candidates afterward.
